Qantas launch new Brisbane flights
11 August 2015 by News DeskQantas is to launch new passenger services between Wellington and Brisbane to cope with growing holiday traffic.
The new service will see 72 additional flights operating to and from Brisbane over the busy summer holiday season. The new service will also offer flight connections to Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Los Angeles.
Wellington Airport has seen a 15% rise in international traffic this year and operators have responded. The new Qantas route to Brisbane is the airports’ fourth new international service. Qantas has also announced additional services over the Christmas period from Wellington to Sydney and Melbourne.
Steve Sanderson, CEO of Wellington Airport, told reporters: “We expect huge demand for the new Qantas service to Brisbane. It will be the only full service airline on one of our most popular holiday destinations at its busiest time of year.”
The new service will begin on December 3 2015.
