Planning your visit to Australia

01 February 2016 by News Desk

travel_australiaIf you are planning to visit Australia, whether it’s for less than 72 hours or a stay of many years, you must have a valid Australian visa.

There are important things you should know such as what visas to apply for and the requirements for the visa application, your obligations while in Australia and how to comply with the conditions of your visa.

Visiting Australia – You might come to Australia for a holiday and sightseeing, social or recreational reasons; to visit relatives or friends; maybe you are a business visitor or seeking medical treatment or consultation. You may simply be passing through en route to another country but you will need to know what you can and cannot bring into Australia, the duty-free limits and what to expect when entering or leaving Australian airports and seaports.

There are a wide range of visas available for visiting Australia. The type of visa that you may be able to get depends on a number of factors such as the length of your stay, your passport, your current location and the purpose of your visit.

If you seek something more than a holiday and wish to visit for study, to work or to live permanently in Australia, there are different requirements that you will need to meet.

Darrell Todd, CEO of thinkingaustralia, says: “For more information about the visas available for visiting Australia or for extending your visit, contact our free Expert Helpline. We’re here to help”.
