As Head Chef of this busy venue in Melbourne, you’ll need a passion for fresh and seasonal food, with skills and knowledge to design and implement a modern Australian menu.
Reporting to the restaurant owners, the successful applicant will have full control of the kitchen and team.
They’ll also be responsible for training and developing a team of chefs, stocktake and ordering, cost control and budgeting for the kitchen and of course preparing and serving top quality dishes.
Ideally, the chef will have worked in a similar style venue with a resume showing a stable work history. It’s very important to have a good understanding of modern Australian cuisine and possess bountiful levels of flair and imagination so you can offer guests a memorable experience.
Key attributes
- Minimum 10 years’ chef experience (essential)
- Hands-on attitude
- Experience with small kitchen operations that includes a team of up to 10 and functions for 100 patrons
- Strong knowledge of Modern Australian food style
- Ability to offer exceptional customer service
- Ability to implement safety and overall policies for kitchen operations
- Designing menus, developing promotions and training the team
- Responsible for stocktake and ordering, cost control and budgeting for the kitchen
