jobs_computer2A software test engineer is required to fill a full time position in Sydney, Australia.

The successful candidate will help the employer to automate product testing and use modern methods and tools to maintain high levels of product quality. As part of a high performing, agile software team, you will learn new skills and be an essential part of their success.

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, you will be a key contributor in delighting their customers, by collaborating with the software engineers to ensure their product is of the highest quality and provides a great user experience. You will be helping build new features and integrating new technologies into their SaaS products in order to deliver greater customer value. As part of a team that is pushing forward with recent advances in automated testing, you will have the opportunity to drive the adoption of new tools and processes.

Purpose of the Role:
• Identify, design and test new product features
• Increase the automated test coverage of our SaaS product
• Promote high adherence toquality amongst the engineering team
• Participate in regression testing
• Support the ad-hoc test of bug fixes and software updates
• Participate as part of a high-performing Scrum team in an iterative, incremental development cycle

The ideal candidate shall be able to have:
• At least 3 years experience in a similar role
• Excellent attention to quality and detail
• Knowledge of important considerations when working with SaaS systems
• Knowledge of or interest in automated testing
• A passionate, driven, energetic approach to software development testing
• Ability to learn and understand complex software systems
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage your own time
• Knowledge of Agile principles and the Scrum development framework
• Keen desire to work as part of a high-performing cross-functional team
• Ability to work collaboratively towards finding the best solutions to any problem
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Any knowledge of PHP, MySQL, CSS and JavaScript is desirable
• An interest in learning and the ability to understand new systems and new concepts
• Relevant Bachelors’ degree or equivalent industry experience
