Hugh Jackman to tour Australia

ent_HughJackman2Hollywood star Hugh Jackman is to swap the big screen for the stage in Australia and an all-singing, all-dancing musical show.

The Australian actor is to tour five Australian cities with an arena show called Broadway to Oz that will feature his favourite songs. Starting in Melbourne on 24 November, the tour will also visit Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

The Sydney-born star of hit movies such as X-Men and Les Misérables said he has been planning the show, and wanting to do it, for 10 years.

Jackman will be supported on stage by 150 musicians, including a 35-piece orchestra, guest singers, dancers and a choir, And Jackman himself will do more than sing, he’ll be dancing a lot too.

The show will feature Jackman reflect on his life growing up in Australia and he’ll also talk about his Hollywood career. Jackman said at a press conference: “You’re going to get to know the real me in the show.”

Tickets for Broadway to Oz will go on sale on Monday 31 August
