500 new jobs for Adelaide
12 July 2015 by News DeskA major new construction project in Adelaide will create 500 new jobs and office space for 3,800 workers.
Plans have been lodged with the city council for the $300m development in Adelaide’s GPO precinct which involves renovating the historic post office and two multi-storey office towers and will also include retail shops, food stores and adjoining laneways and a plaza.
Lord Mayor Martin Haese said the council needed to stimulate growth, which included expanding tourism, residential development and commercial activity.
“We need to be doing many things in our fair city to stimulate demand,” he said.
The developers say that if approved, construction on the project would begin next year.
