Top Gear Trio in Australia
27 July 2015 by News DeskFormer Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are to return to TV with another car-based show.
Clarkson revealed the trio’s plans as they flew out of Australia following a series of highly successful live shows, aptly-titled Cr-ASHES. Around 14,000 people watched each of the four shows in Perth and Sydney that saw Jeremy battle against a team of Australian sport and TV personalities after entering the arena on a hovercraft.
Clarkson’s BBC contract prevents him from appearing in another motor-based show in the UK for next two years but he, along with Hammond, 45, and May, 52, will head for the USA where they will produce an online series, with Netflix and Amazon among the bidders.
Clarkson told radio reporters he will soon return with a new show, saying: “there’s nothing else we can do, it’s literally our only function. So yes, we’ll stick together. There will be a car show on the Internet or in your house – but our lawyers tell us that, for legal reasons, we have never met.’
