Emigrate to Australia where Martin Clunes has explored 16 island groups for his new TV show.

Emigrate to AustraliaEmigrate to Australia and see the Doc Martin TV star swim with whale sharks at Ningaloo Reef; uncover the Abrolhos Islands’ lobsters and shipwreck stories; encounter quokkas on Rottnest and dodge venomous snakes on Carnac Island.

Clunes spent months Down Under filming the new TV show that is being broadcast weekly on Australia’s Channel 7 network.

“Australia’s islands have it all: exotic creatures, spectacular marine life, and of course the different people who inhabit them,” Clunes said.

“Whether they’re relative newcomers or they’ve lived there for generations, these are the resourceful, extraordinary people who call these islands home.

“This is my voyage around the adventure playgrounds, the best-kept secrets and the astonishing surprises of the islands of Australia.”

The new TV show was a team endeavour involving Perth-based Prospero Productions and State Government funding through ScreenWest’s SuperDoc scheme. Tourism Western Australia provided on-ground support.

Martin Clunes’ Islands of Australia features the star exploring the East Coast islands); Western Australia; and Tiwi Islands as well as island paradises in South Australia and Tasmania.
