Emigrate to Australia: 200,000 jobs for Victoria

14 November 2016 by News Desk

Emigrate to Australia and enjoy a jobs boom across a wide range of industries in Melbourne and Victoria.

Emigrate to AustraliaEmigrate to Australia where official government forecasts predict a huge increase in the number of new jobs being created in Melbourne and the wider economy of Victoria.

Up to 200,000 new jobs are expected to be created in industries including design, IT, financial services, engineering and scientific research.

The Victorian government forecasts a huge rise in professional services by 2030 and thousands of extra jobs created if Victoria wins a new government defence contract.

Most of the new jobs will be created in Melbourne, a city that is now becoming the preferred headquarters for top global tech companies.

Hundreds of thousands of skilled workers will be needed to meet employment demand in Melbourne and wide Victoria. And skilled workers will be well paid, earning an average of 30 per cent more than the average Australian weekly wage.

Government research shows that professional services are the biggest and fastest growing area of the state economy. The professional services sector currently accounts for around 20 per cent of Victoria’s total economic output.

Thousands of new jobs will be created if the state wins a new military contract called Land 400, a $14bn project that would create an extra 2000 jobs in regional Victoria.

“Melbourne will be a powerhouse of the Australian economy for decades to come,” says Darrell Todd, founder of thinkingaustralia.

“If you are planning to emigrate to Australia then Melbourne is the ideal destination. The city is growing fast, creating new jobs that need skilled workers. It has good civic amenities and good transport connections – and it’s cheaper to rent a home in Melbourne than it is in Sydney.”

In Melbourne suburbs such as Croydon and Doncaster, there will be a huge growth of jobs involving ‘social assistance’’ roles — healthcare, aged care, teaching and childcare jobs.

Melbourne has two of the top five locations in Australia with a population aged over 85 and major industries are developing to meet the demands of an aging population.

Overall economic growth in Victoria will increase by an extra $22 billion by 2025,

Government forecasts identify the following occupations as being the top new jobs of the future:

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES – Technical design, scientific research, information technology, financial services, adult education and training

DEFENCE – Engineering, design, information technology

CONSTRUCTION – New building materials, environmental performance, government projects

MEDICAL AND PHARMACEUTICALS – Developing new products, expanded operations, research and development

HEALTH PROFESSIONALS AND SOCIAL ASSISTANCE – Dentists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, childcare workers, care workers for the aged and disabled

HOSPITALITY – Hotel and motel managers, cooks, food workers (bakers, butchers, pastry cooks)
