Brisbane teacher eyes boxing crown
20 June 2015 by News DeskA teacher from Brisbane is set to become one of the world’s top ten boxers and take on world champ Floyd Mayweather.
27yr-old Jeff Horn is a ranked contender for Mayweather’s WBA welterweight title and could be elevated to world top 10 status this weekend when he takes on Ghanain boxer Richmond Djarbeng of Ghana at a key bout in Brisbane.
In 2012 Horn was Australia’s best performing boxer at an Olympic Games in over twenty years when he fought in London. He plans to have four more fights in 2015 then seek a match with world champ Mayweather in 2016.
“I’d love the chance to fight either Mayweather or Pacquiao,” says Jeff. “I believe I could put up a great fight on the world stage.”
