Bananarama to tour Australia

14 December 2015 by News Desk

ent_bananarama1Bananarama will set out on a tour of Australia in 2016.

The all-girl trio – famous for their drunken party antics in the 1980s – scored over 30 Top 40 hits in the UK and 40 million records sold worldwide during their career.

Bananarama, who still hold the record as the world’s most successful girl band, now only perform as a duo with original members Sara Dalin and Keren and are heading out on tour to celebrate 30 years since scoring their first chart hit.

The trio scored a string of singalong hits including Love In The First Degree, Robert De Niro’s Waiting, Venus and I Heard A Rumour – their biggest hits coming only after they teamed up with ‘formula’ hit-making team Stock, Aitken and Waterman who were responsible for launching Aussie actress Kylie Minogue’s pop career.

Bananarama will be playing eight shows in total at venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide and will be supported at Australia shows by ’80s band Wang Chung as well as Australia’s own girl group The Chantoozies.
