Airport Manager Job in Sydney

travel_plane2Jetstar is seeking an experienced operations Manager to join the leadership team at Sydney airport.

Airport based ground operations team hold a pivotal function within the business, ensuring passengers and their belongings are safely transported throughout the airports when travelling with Jetstar.

Reporting to Head of Ground Operations and based primarily at Sydney airport, your key responsibilities will include:

Management and oversight of all passenger handling activity across Sydney and Adelaide ports
Representing Jetstar’s interests across Sydney and Adelaide, and building strong relationships with the airport operators and other major stakeholders
Consistent delivery of safe, high quality and cost effective ground handling services for Jetstar operations
Ultimate P&L responsibility for Sydney and Adelaide ports
Overall people management of our ground operations teams at the airports, including recruitment and selection, performance, training, development and compliance
Contribution to the continual enhancement of port performance against agreed objectives and KPIs including short-term and long-term business planning.

To be successful in this role, you will be an operational leader, passionate about leading and developing service-based professionals at all levels. You will pride yourself on your communication, organisation and coaching skills with an eye for working smarter and with efficiency.

Key criteria includes:
Experience managing either a port or other operational unit
Exposure to leading and managing large teams with proven track record in consistently exceeding set metrics
Experience with dealing in a complex business environment and engaging, negotiating with, and influencing stakeholders at all managerial levels, both internally and externally
Understanding of employment law (preferred)
Exposure to air safety legislations, CASA regulatory requirements and experience managing audit programs will be highly regarded.
