Work in Australia:Work in Australia: The School of Social and Political Sciences is currently seeking a Level B Lecturer in Political Science through the Melbourne Early Career Academic Fellowship program (MECAF) as defined in section 27 of The University of Melbourne Enterprise Agreement 2013.

The School of Social & Political Sciences is at the forefront of teaching and research in the social sciences in Australia.

We have a team of dedicated academic and professional staff in the disciplines of Political Science, Criminology, Anthropology and Sociology as well as our allied research centres providing a dynamic and rewarding environment.

The School offers a wide range of courses and programs in areas including criminology, development studies, gender studies, international studies, political science, public and social policy, social theory, socio-legal studies, sociology and anthropology.

Work in Australia: Melbourne University

The successful applicant will complete a structured development program provided by the University within their workload allocation. This program provides training, supervision and appropriate career and professional development opportunities towards establishing an academic career.

Those who have previously held permanent/continuing academic positions are ineligible to apply.

The successful applicant will undertake research resulting in quality publications with leading publishers in the field and will teach at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

As well as teaching in their areas of interest the successful candidates will have the ability to teach core subjects in the Political Science curriculum including quantitative research methods.

The successful candidate will supervise student research (at honours, postgraduate coursework and RHD levels), and will undertake administrative tasks associated with the appointees’ responsibilities in teaching and research, and foster links with external networks.
