29 September 2016 by News Desk

Travel to Australia and experience the best picturesque small towns Down Under.

travel to australiaTravel to Australia where Mandurah, Dalwallinu, Green Head, Leeman and Esperance have been named by travel website Discount Flights as the most irresistible, exotic, historic and postcard-worthy small towns in Australia.

Green Head, 250km north of Perth, was praised for its “sleepy coastal town” vibe with three stunning bays that create “pristine beaches perfect for all kinds of water activities”

There were no listings for WA tourist hot spots including the Kimberley or Margaret River regions, but the Wheatbelt town of Dalwallinu was recognised as a gateway to wildflower country.

Mandurah was compared with a “modern Venice with blue manna crabs and wild dolphins” on the Peel-Harvey Estuary — “twice the size of Sydney Harbour and ideal for canoeing, kayaking, jetskiing, boating, house boating, dolphin cruises, fishing and crabbing”.

Esperance was praised for its “stunning scenery, squeaky white sand and turquoise waters”, with five national parks within reach including Cape Le Grand, where kangaroos have been snapped sunbaking on the beach.

Leeman, just 16km north of Green Head, rounded out the WA hidden gems with its “beach to bush” offerings including bays, salt lakes, sand dunes and wildflowers.

NSW had 16 towns listed, followed by Victoria (14), South Australia (13), Queensland (12), WA (5), Tasmania (3) and the Northern Territory (1).
