Movie blow for ex-PM Gillard
07 June 2015 by News DeskJulia Gillard, the former prime minister of Australia, has been snubbed by TV chiefs who’re refusing to screen a new movie of her life.
Producer Richard Keddie is ‘disappointed’ after his planned new movie based on the life of ex-PM Gillard was rejected by every local TV network, cable broadcaster and digital streaming service in Australia.
TV chiefs said ‘no’ despite Hollywood star Rachel Griffiths being lined up to play the former Aussie Labor party leader, and ‘explosive’ new revelations about Gillard’s bitter in-fighting with political rival Kevin Rudd.
“I’ve been knocked out by what I have discovered about Julia and believe me, what happened between Rudd and Gillard is a small part of the story,” says Keddie.
