Migrate to Australia: Brisbane agrees Olympic bid
25 September 2016 by News DeskMigrate to Australia to enjoy the 2028 Olympics if Brisbane wins the right to host the event.
Migrate to Australia where Mayors from south-east Queensland have agreed to fund a more detailed feasibility study into the possibility of hosting the Games.
The Australian Olympic Committee has backed the Mayors’ decision.
“The Australian Olympic Committee has supported the concept of a feasibility study from the outset,” said John Coates, AOC president. “We see this as the first step in the process.”
Coates said the AOC would back the bid further if the study adhered to two principles from the International Olympic Committee around meeting long-term sporting, economic, environmental and social needs and using existing facilities.
“We believe this would be possible given the existing venues and infrastructure spread throughout the entire Council of Mayors area of south-east Queensland”.

Los Angeles, Paris and Budapest are the remaining city bidders for the 2024 Games and a final decision is expected in Sept 2017.
Biding for the 2028 games will begin in 2019, 12 months after the Gold Coast is due to host the Commonwealth Games.
