Australia migration today is all about jobs. But for many skilled workers it’s not simply a ‘dash for cash’, it’s about lifestyle and career development.

Australia’s population will increase greatly in the next 20 years swelled mostly by overseas workers. National expansion has created demand for skilled workers across all industries. In a bid to meet its’ economic targets Australia has one of the world’s highest per capita migrant programs.

“In coming years the Australia economy will grow at record levels fuelled by over $250bn of major infrastructure construction and development,” ,” says Darrell Todd founder of thinkingaustralia.

“There are fantastic opportunities for skilled workers, their families and their kids and these opportunities will continue to grow for a very long time.”

Rapid population growth is set to make Melbourne Australia’s biggest city within 20 years. Melbourne is now growing at a rate of over 1,200 people a week.

The Victoria State government has launched active campaigns to help the city grow; there has been over $4.5bn in tax cuts, the top rate of land tax has been halved, stamp duty for home buyers has been reduced and payroll tax has been cut.

“Melbourne is one of the nations’ strongest for job creation, training and apprenticeships, housing starts, building approvals, water recycling and water efficiency, renewable energy, biotechnology and medical research,” says Darrell Todd.
