Ford is keeping its Asia-Pacific product development centre in Victoria as part of its $300 million annual investment in Australia. Holden is to also keep vital facilities in Australia.

In Victoria alone the manufacturing sector added 14,600 workers over the twelve months to August with major investments in transport, defence and new green energy projects.

“Some traditional industries are changing and maybe in decline but Australia is changing with the times and demands of the global market,” says Darrell Todd founder of thinkingaustralia.

“Mining may have taken a hit but across the country the economy doing very well; employers are confident, jobs are being created. There’s no better time to live and work Down Under.”

Australia remains a powerhouse nation, its economy generating $1.6 trillion every year.

In the 12 months to June 2016 Australia’s economy grew up 3.3%, continuing its record of more than 25 years without a recession.
