Elton John to tour Australia

The Australian tour will start on December 5 at the Hope Estate winery then he’ll visit Brisbane, Melbourne, Geelong and Adelaide before ending on Dec 19 in Sydney.
Elton and Australia have a long history together. The British performer has played 179 concerts across the country since his first show Down Under at Perth’s Subiaco Oval on Oct 17, 1971. In the years since, he’s played to more than 1.5 million people across the country, and he set the house record at the Qantas Credit Union Arena (formerly Sydney Entertainment Centre) with 45 shows to more-than 475,000 people. Elton married sound engineer Renate Blauel in Sydney in 1984, though the marriage only lasted three years.
“Australia has been one of my favourite countries to tour in ever since my first visit there at the start of my world-wide career in 1971,” Elton said in a statement. “Some of my most memorable concerts have taken place in venues all across the continent. The Australian audiences always seem to bring out the best in us, and I am certain there will be many more fantastic evenings when we visit in December.” The singer’s set will include classic hits and album tracks.
