Australia needs Business Migration

27 May 2016 by News Desk

The business migration climate in Australia remains bright.

Business MigrationMulti billion-dollar investment in housing, major infrastructure, health, utilities, manufacturing, finance, I.T., communications, public and business services means that opportunities for commercial enterprise are among the most attractive and business-friendly in the developed world.

“Management skills and business knowledge are at a premium and those from UK are in high demand,” says Darrell Todd, founder of thinkingaustralia.

“For UK companies and entrepreneurs looking for new opportunities Australia is the only place to consider. You will benefit from similar language; practices and regulations; hard-working people and a ‘can-do’ culture. You’ll achieve more; be more successful and have a better lifestyle when you run a business Down Under.”

“There’s more freedom to succeed in Australia; fewer rules – or reasons – to hold you back. The management structure is much flatter and more egalitarian than in UK, so things get done quicker and better”.

Business Migration to Australia

As the nation’s Capitol City, Canberra is the heart of the country and centre of government. It is two hours from Sydney and 90mins from the beach. Major infrastructure investment; construction; housing; health; financial services and IT industries have created huge demand for key workers, professional and business migrants. The number of new business start-ups is at record levels.

“Canberra is a knowledge-based city. We’re expanding fast, generating massive opportunities for business migrants and new company start-ups,” says Simon Kinsmore of the ACT Government.

There is currently demand across the business spectrum: in accounting and financial services, healthcare, IT and software development services; Computer Telephony Integration (C.T.I.); B2B Support and Professional Services. In all these sectors, management and business skills are vital to Canberra’s continuing growth.

“We have a range of visa’s open to people that other States can’t offer,” says Simon, “and we’re seeking business migrants to support and drive what is Australia’s most hi-tech and dynamic economy.

“Professionals earn more in Canberra; there’s lower unemployment; we have the highest level of education and qualification; the most public open space and, for the hard-working business professional, more golf courses than any other part of the country!”

Supporting New Business

Western Australia has seen recent growth fueled by over $250 billion in infrastructure spending across the public and private sectors.

“Our economy is growing and there are fantastic opportunities for business migrants,” says Bruce McFarlane of the Western Australia Small Business Development Corporation.

“We’re seeking professionals in the tourism industry; the services sector in particular. Our expected future growth is such that there will be opportunities for your children in 20 years time”.

The SBDC offers a wide range of free services to help business migration and to start and grow your business, including market information and demographics, licences, tax registration, employment and standards regulation. Tax breaks and other incentives are available in areas such as Research and Development.

“Start-ups can be eligible to receive Business Grants. We have specific programs to help you grow your business. W.A. is very business-friendly, land and building is cheap compared to UK and we’re a low tax state for business”.

State Government sponsorship is available for Business Migrants, and a range of federal incentives has helped to stimulate growth of new start-up ventures – as have changes to the age threshold for business migrants: from under-45 to under-55 if you are State-Sponsored.

WA is keen to encourage business migration. “With the range of help available, we believe we’re the most generous State in the country for supporting new business,” says Bruce.

Darrell Todd says: “Every day our clients tell us, ‘in UK it’s getting harder and harder not just to run a business but to do your job. Down Under, you can actually get to do what you studied and trained for, properly. It’s one of the reasons people want to leave UK.

“For UK companies and entrepreneurs looking for new opportunities Australia is the only place to consider.”
