Francis learnt some of his dreaming stories as a drover and a stockman during his younger years, while working in outback New South Wales and Queensland. Each canvass depicts a story of the Dreaming in his own contemporary style with a traditional feel.
Francis uses specially mixed Ochre-coloured acrylic and paints in the four colours that his people have used since the beginning of time. He also grinds his own ochre and mixes it with the acrylics he uses.
