Andrew Leather - Migrated to Melbourne

Well I have been here in Melbourne now for almost 2 and a half years and my life has totally changed. 2 weeks on Sunday 24th Feb I am getting married to my aussie bride!!

We bought a house in Northcote on St Georges Rd on December and settled in well. Work good I am working for Cameron Australia in Dandenong doing what I do best i.e. (talk).
Mary (bride) always asks me about how easy it was for me to come here to Australia and I tell her she doesn’t know half of it.

I will never forget the problems we had but it shows that if you stick to your guns you never know. I would like to thank you for all of your support in this time as we all could have easily said not to bother. I wish you and your wife all the best and if you are ever back in Melbourne lets meet up and have a beer.

Hi Darrell,

We had a great xmas with my sister and her family and the kids are all pleased to be back together and they go to the same school which really helped them settle in quickly, even my eldest is loving it here party's most weekends and always out and about.

The boys are both working as well, my daughter really settled in school and is happy learning all about Australia and telling her friends back in the UK, we even gave in and got them a puppy (which I said I never would) but she is lovely and helped the kids settle over the long summer holiday they had when we got here, so thank you for everything it was your support and knowing that you was always there that kept me going and I'm so pleased we are here, when we come back for a holiday you will have to let me buy you lunch.

You will always be recommended by me. (in the newspaper here it said more Brits are looking to emigrate to Australia than ever before), take care of yourselves and will always be grateful to you.

"We first met Darrell and the team at the Living Abroad Show, at Sandown Park in March of this year, were we had a brief meeting sorting our options. It was in the April when Darrell extracted £300, to sign up to the Pathfinder scheme. Darrell and his team along with myself and partner have worked hard to get us the visa's we required. Darrell was always there with words of encouragement, and idea's, to achieve the Goals.

In June we received notification of a job sponsor, and it was looking like we were on our way. We started working with the Brisbane Office then and Heidi in particular.

The two Offices worked brilliantly, and we have found all the team and everybody involved fantastic. The conclusion to all of this is, as of today 15/09/06, we received the Visa Grant Letter of approval, and after tying up some loose ends, we will be on are way to Australia on a 457 visa in October.

Yes there have been times, when things have been frustrating, and seemed to be taking time but, in fact it has all come together in record time and with the right results.

We must say a very big thank you to Darrell and Heidi, and the rest of the team, in helping to make this happen for us."
